what is she exactly preparing herself for? and what language did she use in her letter? I can’t read it is it French?

Her letter reads: “Dear brother (or Kingston), I’m doing well.” And then I think the next sentence is supposed to start with “If.” Not sure she didn’t contract her words because she isn’t great at grammar or if the rest of the sentence will provide more context. (yes it is French :p)

By the way, if anyone reading the comic is fluent in French, feel free to correct me on any horrible errors.

Well then there’s the book’s very first line: “J’eus coincé” is incorrect here, it should read “Je fus coincé” instead.

Especially as the first impression is very important…

The ones in the first chapter were done by randoms on the internet so I trust them much less than the translations in following chapters (which I got help from by people who actually speak French). Thanks for letting me know, I will change it soon.

        You are absolutely right.

There are two errors in the text: “frére” should be “frère” (different accent on the “e”) and there shouldn’t be a capital letter after a comma.
Knowing that, it is likely she didn’t contract her words.

(sorry if my english is bad, it is not my first language)

The accent has now been corrected, thanks. The capital in Je stays though since it is correct form to do so after addressing the person that the letter is written to.

Also, “Se il” mean nothing in french. It would be “S’il” for “if he” or “Si” just for “if”.

            Nice comic otherwise ! <3

“Making potions isn’t going to get me closer to knighthood.”

No, but flinging acid-bombs at your foes MIGHT! 😮

  3. Torn

Sure. Can I tear off one of your fingers to use as a pen and ink?
