Hi! Thanks for taking the poll on censorship last week!

The majority (86%) chose to keep the current censoring method (remove blood/guts, fill viscera with a solid colour). I understand that Orchid Mode isn’t really the best “censoring,” but the “censoring” in relation of this comic was initially made to appease people who might not really like seeing the gooey parts, and wasn’t actually intended to be a full on “censor.” Which is why I asked this question in the first place to see if this current “censoring” was good enough, or if I needed to do more.

In any case, I was asked to chip in for this year’s Tapastic Christmas collab; I also attended last year but I completely forgot to ever put it (and among other side comics) on the extras page, but now it’s there with some other comics, so you can read the side comic over there on the extras page!

Less censoring, please. None at all. Neither artist nor author should hold back from the true expression of their art simply because someone might be offended. Let them be offended. Being offended never killed anyone. Once they spank their inner child and walk off their butthurt, they’ll respect the work even more … or they weren’t the audience you were looking for.

Hello Jay. Orchid mode is an option for viewers that enjoy the comic, but are not fond of some of the more gruesome visuals. Readers can then choose which format they wish to read. This allows the original work to be unrestrained, and also allows readers to not be forced to see things that make them squeamish.

Also, I did want to thank you for being a reader and willing to defend the comic’s right to be expressive with its art.

judging from ALL THE WEBCOMIC’S MAIN THEME… orchid mode is not supposed to even exist! i am here from the moment i saw the skyrim mod, from the very days of volume 1 pages! this story is about a girl that wants to be a knight and somehow she’ll be able to pull out any kind of tool of weapon she wants outside of her body by her wish and command! censorship shouldn’t even be allowed in such a webcomic that is BUILT on gore itself! besides the great details is what makes this comic as great as it is so far!
the fan art is very nice .. wish i could send something that descent… sheesh
no don’t tell me how to send until i learn how to draw right… to be honest here i never believed in censorship in my life ever! the product MUST AND MUST AND MUST!! remain the way it was designed to be! whoever doesn’t like something because it doesn’t reach their taste should keep their opinions to themselves or to simply do what they want themselves by their own hands!
