Wow, her confidence went way up, just because a book told her she did something good, even though nobody can remember it. And I love how she tells the guy not to be worried about her, even though she’s a little girl and absolutely covered in blood at this point.

she’s going to protect him from the monsters when she’s the WORST monster of all wow! let’s see how will this turn out!

    Bouquin looks Terrified,
His lie has given Ephelia some false confidence,
and bought him some time to think about, how to tell her the truth,
or if he should continue with the lie, and spare her sanity.
it’s a very hard decision to make, considering he is reliant on her.

I have the distinct feeling that Bouquin is NOT a friend here, but rather an agent of..whatever the heck made Ephelia what she now is; a monster with eyes alarmingly similar to Bouquin’s.

As I see it, Ephelia is dead. She died when the Paladin cut her head off early on, or whoever it was. Bouquin, or whatever he works for, used her corpse to make a servant or host of some kind that happens to wear Ephelia’s partially reanimated body as a disguise.

The Paladins didn’t try to kill her when they found her, and whatever happened to her only affects her perception of the world when the Paladins get close to finding her; whatever made her the way she is, It does NOT want them to successfully catch Ephelia.

I feel like Ephelia isn’t with us anymore, just a shell of who she was. A horrifying puppet meant only to serve Bouquin’s needs, to be manipulated and tortured into becoming the tool Bouquin needs to accomplish his/her goals…whatever they are. Probably the total eradication of humanity, why not?

This peasant guy just…either he’s a new tool, or an unwitting pawn set up to die when Bouquin determines it most useful.

Well, near instant karma for the dishonest is good from a moral standpoint I suppose-however also unfortunately good for the sake of suspense! Suspense that you know only something awful will come of!

Keep up the good work! ♥

What could that man possibly be worried about? A young girl covered in blood? The fact she’s running from monsters? She was talking to a book? Was unconscious? Or o toothed organ-monster? We’ll find out later why he chose to follow…

  7. Icarus

so, uh, what happens when Bouquin runs out of pages?

    • jumpy

maybe he grows new ones? and like memories the old ones sometimes fade? where sometimes he gets lighter or heavier? or maybe he does run out and needs to have new paper added to him, idk. it’s just a theory.

Wow, what a hopeless tragedy she is in for. Pretty sad really.
